How can I get involved with MyVillage to promote myself, my event or my community?
MyVillage is a national network of city sites that provide features, reviews, listings, events and social networking. To get involved you firstly need to become a member then you can select businesses/venues you like, create your own events, groups and discussions, make friends, add music, photos and videos, and write reviews and blogs.
How do I become a member?
You can join MyVillage by visiting the Sign Up page.

How do I select my favourite businesses/venues?
Whether you hang out at the hippest city bar, take comfort in a little known country restaurant, spend time at a cutting edge salon or shop in the best boutiques the area has to offer, all you have to do is search for your desired venue and then hit ‘I Like’. This venue will be added to your profile page.
How do I create my own event?
If your event is taking place at a venue listed on MyVillage, find the venue and then click 'Add Event' on the venue page - this will ensure that your event gains maximum exposure. If not, go to the Add an Event page. Your event will be added to the Members Event page, promoted via our Members and Community Page and listed on the events calendar.

How do I create groups?

How can I create and take part in discussions?

How do I make friends with existing members?
Find that special someone you’re looking for and then hit ‘Add as Friend’, which is located just under the picture on his or her profile page, they will need to confirm your request. Your friends will be added to your profile page.
How do I invite new members?

How do I add music to my profile?
Go to your profile page and click ‘My Music’ and then select whether you want to add tunes from your computer or from another website. Your music will be added to your Profile page.
How do I add photos to MyVillage?
You can either visit the Photos page via Members and Community, or hit ‘My Photos’ via your profile page, hit ‘Add a Photo’ and the select whether you want to add pictures from your computer or via phone or email. Your photos will be added to your Profile page.
How do I add videos to MyVillage?
You can either visit the Videos page via Members and Community, or hit ‘My Videos’ via your profile page, hit ‘Add a Video’ and then select whether you want to add videos from your own computer, via a phone or email, or from another website. Your videos will be added to your Profile page.
How do I submit reviews?
Whether you want to shout out about a bar, restaurant, boutique, spa, cinema, movie or music venue, search for you desired venue/event/release and then simply hit ‘write review’. Your reviews will be added to your profile page.
How do I write blogs?
You can add blog submissions by hitting My Blogs on your profile page and selecting ‘Add a new blog post’. Your blog posts will be added to your profile page.
Can I add links to content I have on other sites?
Sure you can, we’re all about diversity here at MyVillage. On your profile page you can select ‘Add RSS’, next you just simply add the URL of the page/site you want to link to and voila you’ll have automatically updated links to external content.
Can I add widgets, gadgets and personalise my profile page?
Course you can, this is your page. To change colours and background go to ‘My Settings’ via your Profile page. To add widgets and gadgets simply paste the required code into the MyVillage Edit box. To mash up your Profile page layout there is a simple-to-use drag and drop functionality: hover over the subject title i.e. reviews, and then simply drag and drop to the desired location.
I want to keep an eye on a discussion/group/event/feature – can I request update alerts?
Sure can, find the discussion/group/event/feature you’re interested in and then hit ‘follow’ at the bottom of the page, you’ll be alerted every time new content is posted. Alternatively you can select the little orange RSS logo at the bottom of the page, subscribe to the feed and automatic updates will be delivered direct to your computer.
